I will trust the Lord.
My heart does not understand His ways
Nor can my mind follow his designs.
His artist’s skill surpasses my conception
And his plans overwhelm my anticipation.
Yet I will empty myself before Him;
I will wait on His Word with hope.
God is the sole keeper of my life;
Without His breath, my spirit would cease.
My soul faints for His nearness
And hungers to know Him.
I will call Him blessed and holy
Though I cannot comprehend Him.
I will trust my God, my strength!
Though He tests me, I will love Him.
Though He despises me, I will have faith.
My Lord is an unfailing defense.
He is a spring in the besieged city;
Life in death.
To Him, I yield.
I submit to the Sovereign One.
My body and my flesh die,
But my God is incorruptible;
Where He is, is life, and that fully.
