This is where I tell you why this blog is here.
Yes, I have had a blog before and it went pretty much nowhere. And yes, I am trying again, because my goals haven’t changed. 1) I want to get my poetry published! And 2) I want to get my poetry read! I know I need accountability to maintain momentum towards these goals. So I am here putting it all out there now. The finished polished work as well as drafts that I am still working on. Hopefully, some people can benefit from seeing my process or maybe I can glean some advice on where my process might be improved.
But also, I have learned in the last 10 years that I need to feed my creative self. That means that you will likely find a smattering of things besides poetry here that do that.
There are a few things you need to know: 1) There will be some religious themes on this blog both in the poetry and in the “other stuff”. It feeds my soul and it feeds my creativity. It is my identity. I will not apologize for including it. 2) Religious themes will not be the sole topic of my writing and when it is there may be some outside the box thinking or doubts expressed, because that is part of growth and life and does not indicate in any way the end of my theological journey or an “I will die on this mountain” support for a theological viewpoint. 3) I want your comments, feedback and, if you are a published writer, your advice.
