Joy is in the wheeling gulls at play above the surf.
Peace is in the quilt of sun laid across the day.
Bliss to feel the sun and hear the waves.
Bliss to watch the flags flap, flap in lazy fits.
In company of idlers, malingerers us all,
Sipping drafts of beauty unbridled,
With time only the west-slipping sun
Mellowed by the sea’s slap, slap against the shore,
Repose pins us to the tranquil ebb
And we, idlers, separately, celebrate communion,
In silence, with the elements of sun and sea.
